The SelaQui School was established in October 2000 in Dehradun, a hill town in Uttar Pradesh (now in Uttarakhand) by Mr. Om Pathak, a former IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh Cadre.The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. In 2004, the SelaQui School was renamed SelaQui World School as it had been authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) Diploma Program. In 2010, the school became SelaQui International School (or SIS), due to an objection raised by the IBO on the use of the word 'World'.

Often counted among the best boarding schools in the city, SelaQui International School is a coeducational, residential school, and is located in the village of SelaQui in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. It is about 20 km from Dehradun on national highway 72 connecting Dehradun with Paonta Sahib and Chandigarh. The school is affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and is open to boys and girls from class V onwards irrespective of religion, caste, and ethnicity. It also boasts of a healthy international student's community. The school is located on a 52 acres campus with a natural spring running through it providing an ideal setting for education in a country setting.

Founded in October 2000, the school is one of the best boarding schools in India and is managed by Gurukul Trust, a non-profit charitable organization based in Delhi. It owes its vision to Mr. Om Pathak, an ex-Indian Administrative Service officer and a leading educationist of the country.

Infrastructure

The school is situated next to the Suvarna river. It is a fully boarding school, having around 300 students. The campus is sprawled across 52 acres

Boarding

The school has separate boarding facilities for boys and girls. The boys and girls facilities are separated by the teachers' residences and dining hall.

The hostels are on two floors, the ground floor housing the junior classes, and the first floor housing the senior classes.

Each hostel has a recreation area where the students can refresh themselves for 30-45 minutes in the evening after dinner.

Sports

School sporting activities include soccer, cricket, rifle shooting, basketball, volleyball, swimming, tennis, table tennis, badminton and hockey. Students take up an individual sport as well as a team sport.
